    WAYJO, CircuitWest & Rave About Arts present a Playing WA Tour of Be-Bop to Hip-Hop

    Experience the extraordinary connection between jazz and hip-hop as Noongar rapper Zero Emcee and the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO)'s 18-piece big band come together for a one-night-only performance in Hopetoun!

    Hear the phat beats, bold brassy horns, and infectious grooves of a dynamic collaboration that originated in Perth in 2022. These ground-breaking performances captivated audiences of all ages.

    Zero Emcee has carved a prominent place in the Australian music scene with his potent and socially resonant rap. From the streets of Perth to the illustrious stage of Dreamtime at the 'G, his journey resonates on both local and national levels. Embodying the spirit of Noongar and Jingili cultures, Zero’s raps have gained widespread recognition on social media, reflecting a deep connection to his roots and a commitment to representing his culture with pride. 

    For four decades, WAYJO has been at the forefront of youth jazz orchestras in Australia. The fierce competition for a spot in one of their three big bands showcases the nation's finest young talent, with many artists going on to achieve acclaim across genres and borders.
