Some knowledge simply needs to be learned. Rules, regulations, policies and technical knowledge are essential, but let's face it: they are not always exciting.

And low motivation creates a particular challenge for knowledge trainers: How do we move learners from “I have to take part, I need the certificate” to “Oh, interesting!” and finally to “I can actually use this in my daily work”?

In this practical and interactive session, Sabine shares how she approaches this challenge in her own training practice, and how AI opens up new possibilities for creating engagement and supporting transfer.

Using practical examples, we will explore how AI can support learners before, during and after training: from activating prior knowledge and creating engaging quizzes and realistic cases to reflection, individual practice and transfer into everyday work.

But technology alone doesn't create transfer. Sabine will also show how she combines AI with humor, meaningful real-world cases, active learning and reflection to turn necessary knowledge into applicable competence.

The key question throughout the session:

How can we move from boring knowledge to real-world doing, with and without AI?

Key Takeaways

Participants will take away:

Practical ideas for using AI before, during and after training
Ways to turn knowledge into competence and application
Inspiration for combining AI, humor and real-world cases
Examples they can adapt to their own knowledge-based training

What You Need

Please make sure you have access to an LLM such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini during the session. We will use it for a short interactive exercise right at the beginning.

About Sabine

Sabine Katzmair is an experienced Payroll trainer, Payroll Expert, Corporate Learning Professional and founder of the Payroll Academy. With around 20 years of experience as a trainer, she knows the challenge of teaching complex, regulation-heavy and sometimes rather boring content very well. And after participating in many training programs herself, she also knows what definitely does not work.

Today, she describes herself as a Payroll Enabler rather than simply a Payroll Trainer. Her focus is not only on transferring knowledge, but on enabling people to build competence, take ownership of their learning and apply what they have learned in their daily work.

She combines practical Payroll and HR expertise with modern learning and transfer approaches and explores how AI, humor and meaningful real-world application can help turn knowing into doing.
