Deloitte, Director Everett Toews is a Specialist Director in Deloitte New Zealand’s Engineering practice, where he helps organisations establish and mature modern engineering capabilities. With a background spanning software development, platform engineering and DevOps, Everett works closely with teams to design operating models, platforms and ways of working that enable safe, efficient and sustainable delivery. His focus includes developer experience, cloud‑native platforms and the evolving role of engineers as AI increasingly takes on code production, shifting rigour upstream into intent, architecture and oversight.
Annie Vella
Westpac New Zealand, Distinguished Engineer Annie Vella is a Distinguished Engineer at Westpac New Zealand and an executive advisor specialising in AI adoption, software engineering transformation and systems thinking. With more than two decades of experience across New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Europe, Annie works at the intersection of engineering practice and executive decision‑making. She is currently focused on enabling responsible, effective use of AI in large organisations, ensuring it strengthens how software is designed, built and governed. Annie has also recently completed a Master of Engineering, researching the impact of AI coding assistants on professional software engineers.
Mike Nooney
