    Event description

Cantoris welcomes Spring with a concert of contrasts, presenting music from Maurice Duruflé and John Rutter.

The Choir will perform Duruflé's sorrowful and contemplative Gregorian chant-inspired Requiem, and Rutter's joyous, light and jubilant Gloria. The Requiem easily captures the type of late Winter-early gloomy Spring that we see here in Wellington, when Winter still has her dark grip over some early Spring days. While Rutter's Gloria is much like the glorious Spring days (even through the seasonal rain and wind!) that eventually make their presence known.

    There will be two performances:
    Saturday 9 Sept 2023, 7.30pm - St Peter's on Willis, Wellington
Sunday 10 Sept 2023, 2pm - St James Anglican Church, Lower Hutt

The Choir will be supported by composer, performer, and educator Jonathan Berkahn on the organ, and a brass/percussion ensemble.
