From Doing to Being: An Introduction to Mindfulness and Insight Meditation
Description
From Doing to Being:
An Introduction to Mindfulness and Insight Meditation
If your life runs on doing, doing, doing, and part of you wonders whether there's more, this is your invitation to pause.
Over four Saturday afternoons, you'll learn simple, grounded mindfulness and Insight meditation practices to settle the mind, befriend your feelings and reconnect with the joy of simply being. No experience needed. Come as you are.
The journey
We begin by settling into breath and body, open gently toward the heart, and finish by carrying the practice into everyday life. Each week builds on the last, so if you're new, please join all four.
Not every session will feel calm, and that's part of the practice. Whatever arises is welcome.
Who it's for
Complete beginners are warmly welcome, especially busy, tired people who want a space for calm, meaning and contemplation.
Already have a practice? Let's practise together. Allow me to nourish you.
Changes you may notice
More presence in your everyday life
Closer connection with the people you love
Joy in small things
A kinder inner voice
Hard feelings that pass more easily
Rest without guilt
The lineage
These practices come from Insight meditation (vipassana), part of the Theravada tradition of Buddhism, one of the oldest living lineages of meditation. They're taught in plain, everyday language, for people of any belief or none.
I've trained as a meditation teacher with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach through Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP). I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Trika Kula Ashram with Nataraj Chaitanya and Vishnudev, whose teachings are rooted in the Siddha Yoga lineage of Bhagawan Nityananda and in the meditation teachings of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

That's normal and welcome. You can sit, lie down or move.
- Do I need to be spiritual?
No. Come as you are, whatever your beliefs.

Not this time. This course is in person only, so our small group can settle into the room together. I’d love to offer an online course in the future. Follow @mindful_bel on Instagram to hear when it’s on.
- Can I come to just one session?
If you're new, please join all four: each week builds on the last. Experienced meditators are welcome to drop in.
