From Forest to Field with Leila Lees
Event description
Bring along your nature journal!Â
In this workshop artist, writer and healer Leila Lees will share processes of observation and notation, building a profound connection through sensory meditation and observation. We will look at the remarkable transition between the forest and the field at Te Toki Reserve, getting a sense of place through a practice of concentric circles and peripheral visioning. We will also come into the detail and the relationship between the plants, animals and landscape. Involved in this is the effect of history and the patterns of people on and within the landscape. Part of this workshop will introduce nature journaling; how do we express what we experience and see and how nature journaling supports us to explore further and open us to wonderment.
