"Motherhood in the Colony" is a powerful 30-minute documentary collaboration between Worimi filmmaker Genevieve Grieves and Palestinian artist Aseel Tayah. This intimate film explores the shared experiences of First Nations and Palestinian women, examining motherhood as both cultural transmission and act of resistance against colonial oppression.
The film screening is entirely free but donations are welcome. The screening will be followed by a casual shared ritual and conversation amongst attendees.

All funds raised will be shared between Sisters Inside (supporting First Nations communities) and mutual aid for Palestinians in Gaza, making your attendance a meaningful act of solidarity and support.
This family-friendly event brings together art, activism, and community in a celebration of resilience and shared struggle. Come for the market, stay for the powerful storytelling, and leave inspired to continue building bridges of understanding and support.
The venue is wheelchair accessible. Toilets are available on site (back of building), however wheelchair accessible toilets are available next door at 144 Katoomba St.
