Discover how verge gardens can support local wildlife, improve neighbourhood green space and bring communities together.

We’ll share practical advice on suitable native plants, planning and Council requirements. You can then sign up to help build a model verge garden at a later working bee.

Residents and families are welcome. No gardening experience is needed.

About The Gap Sustainability Initiative

The Gap Sustainability Initiative is a charitable, volunteer-led community organisation. We work in partnership with other local groups, residents, schools, businesses, and governmental stakeholders to promote sustainable living practices and a positive ecological environment. We run free bi-monthly educational seminars in The Gap, engage with local schools to facilitate their sustainability journey, and champion three main projects: Sustainability Together, The platypus Project, Electric Communities
