From Miramar to Pandora - Industry Talk with the Avatar: Fire and Ash Sound Team

Join the The Screen Music and Sound Guild (SMSG) for a special industry talk exploring the craft of sound on one of the world’s most ambitious film productions, Avatar Fire and Ash.

Hosted at Massey University Cinema, this event brings together three Wellington-based members of the film’s sound team: Supervising Sound Editor Brent Burge, Sound Designer Hayden Collow, and Supervising Dialogue Editor Martin Kwok.

In conversation with SMSG, the panel will share insights from their work on the latest film in the Avatar franchise and reflect on the creative and technical challenges of working at this scale. From early collaboration and evolving workflows to the realities of post-production on a major international film, the discussion will offer a rare glimpse into how world-class sound teams operate.
