Event description

Be brave and bold with Brisbane’s Queen of Colour, Rachel Burke in this fun-filled Masterclass transforming a mundane pantry box into a majestic handbag.

Rachel’s vibrant, tactile and shiny wearable pieces have adorned celebrities and re-ignited a love of craft and naive materials among her followers. Working across fashion, accessories, installation, theatre and book publishing, Rachel’s cross disciplinary practice and signature style will dazzle and delight fans of colour, costume, craft and the unconventional.

In this one-day Masterclass, she brings her love for upcycling and courageous creative play (‘pla-pla) to the Coast guiding you through the design, technique and execution phases of taking a pantry box from the recycle bin all the way to the red carpet.

Share the joy with a like-minded community of crafters, designers and artists in this one-off Masterclass brought to you by The Refinery. An opportunity not to be missed.
