FROM MY SIDE

From My Side is a concept recital based around perspective. A tumultuous relationship connected through music and poetry, the performance explores the fact that there are always two sides to every story. 

Alec and Lisa meet at what seems like the perfect time. They are both ready to trust and be in love again. Things are going well, they are enjoying getting to know each other and allowing themselves to open up to someone new. Although they are in the same relationship, their experiences and narratives of what's occurring could not be further apart. Something shifts - like it always seems to do in Alec's relationships - and what seemed like a tiny fracture is about to cause everything to crumble.

Over the course of the performance, we hear two very different sides of a complex break up. The recitals feature music by Brahms, Ravel, Wolf, Rachmaninoff, C. Schumann, A. Beach, Strauss and more. 

Doors and the bar open ONE HOUR before the show starts and there will be a 20 min interval.
