Description

Improve your crop and pasture establishment outcomes, and build skills in pest and beneficial insect ID and apply practical IPM strategies, based on GRDC guidance.

Event details:

Join Phil Bowden from Pulse Agronomy Australia and Central West Local Land Services for a practical workshop based on the GRDC Insect pests of establishing canola in NSW guide. This session will build your skills in identifying key pests that threaten early crop establishment, alongside the beneficial insects that help keep them in check.

Refresh your knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies that reduce reliance on insecticides while maintaining crop and pasture performance. We’ll explore how local factors such as stubble retention, soil type, native vegetation and seasonal conditions affect pest pressure and management decisions.

Designed for both agronomists and growers, this workshop will boost confidence in making timely, informed decisions and tailoring insect management strategies to suit your farming system.

Additional details:

  • Catering and all training resources will be provided. Please advise us of any dietary or accessibility requirements and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a paddock walk.
