From Research to Region | National Science Week
Description
What if your next burger patty came straight from a printer?
How well do you know the famous frogs living in your own backyard?
And how can technology, sustainability, and human-centred design help build a more resilient construction industry?
This National Science Week, discover how University of Newcastle researchers are tackling real-world challenges and driving local impact on the Central Coast.
Our special edition of the From Research to Region seminar series highlights how research spanning construction, food science and environmental conservation is delivering tangible outcomes for communities, industry and the environment.
Join us for an engaging evening of short presentations and discussion, showcasing innovative work across STEM and the built environment that is making a difference locally and beyond.
Hear from:
Dr Maggie Tang (Construction Management), Reimagining Construction: Human-Centred, Digital and Sustainable
Dr Taiwo Akanbi (Food Science and Human Nutrition), What if your next burger patty came straight from a printer?
Dr Alex Callen (Environmental Science and Management), Famous frogs in your LGA!
Each speaker will share a how their work is being applied in practice, followed by an interactive panel discussion, where you can ask questions about their work, collaborations and local impact.
