Fungi are nature’s alchemists and hold untold answers for our future on Earth. Come along and find out why mushrooms and other edible fungi are fast becoming a major source of food, how fungi assists in environmental remediation, design and construction, and medicinally.

EarthRising Mushroom Farm grow different varieties of oyster mushrooms and the increasingly popular medicinal Lion's Mane.

EarthRising Mushroom Farm in Lawson operates as a low-tech mushroom farm by replacing machinery with people. Given 76% of mushroom cultivation is in Asia, Alex states working locally means they can produce the freshest mushrooms for local restaurants and the community. Not only does EarthRising Mushroom Farm run on solar, the production is free of chemical sprays.

Alex will take you through through the different steps of the mushroom growing process, from the work with spores in the lab to the mushroom harvest; as well as providing tips for growing mushrooms at home.
