The start of a new year often invites reflection.
What do you long for in the year ahead—for your life, your work, your community, or the world?

Yet for many people, the weight of the world can make it difficult to move from hope to action. Rising living costs, ecological breakdown, political instability, and burnout can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin.

This session is an invitation to pause, imagine, and then move forward—together.

Hosted by New Economy Network Australia (NENA) in partnership with the Humanitarian Changemakers Network and Byron Bay Business College, this highly interactive workshop is designed to help changemakers turn their visions for the year ahead into a clear, grounded strategy and action plan.

Why This Session?

Imagination is not an escape from reality—it is how we begin to shape it.

In this session, we will work deliberately with imagination to:

Clarify what truly matters to you
Translate vision into a realistic strategy
Identify practical steps you can take now, even in uncertain times

Whether your focus is personal, professional, or community-based, this workshop supports you to move from intention to action with confidence and clarity.

What You’ll Experience

This is not a lecture or passive webinar. You will actively work on your own goals throughout the session.

You will:

Articulate a meaningful goal or direction for the year ahead
Learn a simple, adaptable strategy framework for social and personal change
Break your goal into achievable actions
Leave knowing your first concrete step to take in January
Connect with others who are also committed to creating positive change

The session blends reflection, structured facilitation, and practical tools—designed to be immediately useful, not overwhelming.

Who This Is For

This session is for anyone who:

Feels called to create positive change but isn’t sure where to start
Wants to begin the year feeling empowered rather than depleted
Is working toward social, ecological, or community change
Wants clarity, focus, and momentum for the year ahead

No prior experience with strategy or planning is required.
