    Event description

In Australia 2.5 million tonnes of food waste comes from our homes each year – costing every household around $2000 per year. With the increasing cost of living – how can we spend less, but eat well?

At this session, lecturer and author, Megan Radaich, will share how to create nutritious, delicious, low cost meals at home using seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Home food preservation techniques discussed at this session will focus on cooking and processing – bottling fruits, pickles, jams, chutneys, etc – but also include refrigeration, freezing, dehydrating, fermenting...and more.

There will also be tips on menu planning, budgeting and shopping, resources about storing ingredients, and ideas on what to do with all those leftovers to help reduce food and financial waste.

    This session is for adults.

Places are limited and bookings are essential.
