Fruit Carving with Thanya

The Geeveston Art Show is delighted to present the Artist Development Programme - proudly sponsored by the Huon Valley Community Bank.
Thanks to Bendigo's generous sponsorship, all the workshops in our programme are FREE OF CHARGE to participants throughout the Art Show!
This workshop FRUIT CARVING is targeted at beginners who need no experience. It is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and up (youngsters will need to be supervised) We regret that as knives are involved we need to keep the age limit at 12.
Using fresh fruit, participants will learn about:
- Selecting appropriate fruit for carving
- What tools to use
- Carving techniques
- Simple designs
- Lifespan of your creation
Participants will go home with an apple swan (or other creation) and the skills to continue exploring their new hobby!
Your workshop leader is Thanya, an accomplished fruit carving artist who has been delighting us with her work in exhibitions and festivals for many years.
All materials will be provided, and please come armed with questions too!
