It’s time to share some of the wonderful recipes that people have been snapping up at our garden gate stand this year.

I’m going to take you through the process of making simply delectable jams from home grown (or gifted or bought) fruit and flowers, and jellies made from the sweetest and tangiest produce. It’s a class to take you back to the kitchen of your mum or grandmother… enjoying a cuppa and sharing stories as the pot of fragrant jam simmered on the stove top.

I recall growing up with mum’s Blood Plum jam bubbling away as I thrust open the door from a day at school. Isn’t it funny how smell memories are amongst our most vivid? That plum jam was rich, slightly tart and wow, just so much better than anyone else’s because it was real and home-made from the abundant harvest of our own plum tree. Well, so much for my memories, I'll bet you have some of your own too that you'd like to remember or maybe create afresh.

At this class, I’d like to share with you the essentials of jam and jelly making like our mums or grans once did. I’d love you to experience the joy of producing a jar of something sweet and sticky, and of creating something concentrated and delicious from the garden.

You’ll take home some jars of deliciousness from this class and plenty of recipes and memories rekindled or made afresh.

For this small class group you will just need to bring an apron and a biro and plenty of room in your tummy for scones with home-made jam and jelly taste-testing.
