Kirsten Samuels

Policy Director - Superannuation, FSC

Kirsten has been with the FSC for 2 and a half years and is the Policy Director for Superannuation. She led the development of the FSC’s response to the Government’s retirement phase discussion paper, working closely with members to ensure the industry’s voice was heard. Kirsten is passionate about securing strong retirement outcomes for all Australians.

With over a decade of experience in policy and government relations, Kirsten has held senior roles across peak bodies including ClubsNSW, the Outdoor Media Association and, most recently, the Australian Payments Network where she tackled key issues such as scams, digital currency, and the Consumer Data Right. She has also served as an advisor to a NSW Government Minister and in policy at a local government level.

Kirsten brings a broad and deep understanding of policy development across industries, underpinned by hands-on experience in issues management, advocacy, thought leadership, and industry self-regulation. Her career reflects a strong commitment to shaping policy that delivers real-world outcomes.

Lachlan Reardon

Partner, NMG Consulting

Lachlan focuses on the asset management and wealth sectors, working with clients on M&A transactions, market entry strategy, product development and project management and delivery. Lachlan has experience working with clients across both institutional and retail segments.

Ashton Jones
Director - Customer Innovation, Insignia Financial

Ashton has nearly 20 years of experience in financial services spanning the full wealth management product lifecycle. He is a leading voice in the retirement industry and is passionate about getting Australians excited about and engaged with their wealth and retirement savings, leading to a more dignified retirement. After 8 years at TAL Australia as a General Manager where he launched several new retirement propositions, he joined Insignia Financial at the end of 2024 and is now leading its retirement strategy and customer innovation. Ashton is a qualified chartered accountant and was awarded the FSC Young Achiever Award in 2018.
