Mike Edmonds (Founder, Chairman Meerkats)

After two decades as Company Director/Chief Creative Officer of Perth advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather, Marketforce and 303MullenLowe, Mike Edmonds founded his own company Meerkats in 2004.

Now in its 14th year, Meerkats has been named Campaign Brief Agency of the Year 3 times and has won creative and effectiveness awards around Australia and the world. Personally, Mike has represented Australia as a judge at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, Dubai Lynx, and London International Awards. He has lectured in New York, Jakarta, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney and has been invited to speak at AWARD Sydney, Adfest Asia and Ad:tech NZ.

Kevin Brown (Chief Product Officer, Virtual Gaming Worlds)

Kevin has been fucking up businesses and products since he was 12, sparsely scattered through these failures is occasional success. Fucking things up is in a lot of ways more fun, you certainly learn more - no one learns anything unless you need to lift the bonnet or reach for the manual.

Kevin would like to share his failures, have a bit of a giggle and try to help those who are pioneering avoid the pitfalls he has stumbled into.

Meg Burrage (Founder, Bubdesk)

Meg Burrage, Founder of BubDesk, is an entrepreneur at heart and corporate professional by day. Meg’s passion is helping people succeed at whatever they’re working towards and bringing them together in an inspiring and motivating workplace.

HOW IS IT DONE?

In every Fuckup Night 3 speakers tell their failure story explaining:
What was the project?
What went wrong?
What did they learn?
What would they do differently?

Each speaker tells their story in 10 images (40 seconds per image, ~6mins total) followed by Q&A.

At the end of the speakers’ stories, attendees are welcome to stick around and network over drinks.

Previous Fuckup Night speakers have varied from social entrepreneurs, tech founders, and even a doctor who a few years ago opened an adult shop that went broke.

Just so you get an idea, Fuckup Nights is something between a party and a casual business conference :)

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

If you're a successful business owner or entrepreneur who has:

HOW CAN I ATTEND?

There will be 4 quarterly editions of Fuckup Nights in Perth. Our second event will be held at a central Perth location to be advised. Entry is $15 and includes light refreshments. Net proceeds will go to mental health charities.
