Fuel for the Future
Description
Feeling dried, fried and squeezed?
With fuel prices climbing again and everyday costs pressing in, join Roots & Rivers Collective (R&RC) for an evening of food, fire and conversation about what we can create together.
Since our first gathering in April as Permabrella, five of us have been tending the connections and ideas that began there. We’re inviting everyone who joined us then, along with newcomers, back to the farm to hear what’s taken shape and share what’s happening across our community.
We’ll hear updates from people doing work on the ground, then gather in smaller groups to identify priorities and set next actions for our community. We’ll share a meal, sit by the fire and celebrate the nourishment we grow close to home.
VOICES FROM THE COLLECTIVE
Bunya Halasz from Growing Roots Permaculture, the Roots & Rivers crew, and others from across the group who feel inspired to share. 😊

WHERE WE'LL GATHER
We’re planning to gather in The Spiral, nestled in the Food Forest, with The Garlic Shed as our wet-weather backup.
WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR?
We’re keen to grow more community-based local food projects, and we need some practical infrastructure to help make that happen.
First up, we’re raising funds for an electric tractor to help us establish and support new community growing projects. We’ve also been given access to a food van, which we’d love to get up and running and take to events across the region, sharing the wonder (and deliciousness!) of perennial subtropical food crops.
You’ll get a taste of some of these amazing foods at this gathering, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Your ticket helps cover the cost of the event, and any funds remaining will go directly towards bringing these R&RC projects to life.
