Full Moon Medicine Drumming Circle

ROOTS & WISDOM

We gather as the divine feminine and masculine energies, in a safe, open, and deeply held space. This is a sacred circle where real conversation happens. Where the masks come off and the performance stops.

This is a calling to come back down into the body and back down into the wisdom that lives there. Under the Harvest Moon, the moon of reaping what has been sown, we turn toward what it actually means to be rooted, in yourself, in your worth, in the knowing that's been earned through everything you've lived. We will be having a discussion on grounding and embodied wisdom, and what it means to trust what you've learned through experience over what you've been told to believe. Where in your life are you living in your head instead of trusting what your body and your years have already taught you? What wisdom have you earned that you haven't given yourself credit for?

We open seated together in circle with ceremonial tea. It warms the blood and settles the body, bringing us down and in before we rise into rhythm. We will sit with it and set our intention to root back into our own knowing.

As the circle opens fully, we rise into shamanic drumming, a call and response journey held by shamanic medicine drums, rattles, and voice. This is embodiment work through rhythm. There is nothing to get right and nothing that needs to look a certain way. The drumbeat mirrors the heartbeat and the pulse of the earth itself, and it has been used for thousands of years across cultures to bring people back into their bodies, back into their own steady rhythm, and back into the wisdom their ancestors carried before them.

Drumming works on a level words can't reach. A sustained rhythmic beat entrains the brain toward theta states, the same threshold state found in trance and deep meditation, where the nervous system can finally settle out of fight or flight and drop into safety. Research on rhythmic drumming points to real drops in cortisol and real shifts toward parasympathetic calm, but the medicine of it isn't just physiological. It's ancestral. Across every culture on earth, the drum has been the way wisdom was passed down long before it was ever written.

When the drumbeat meets the emotional openness of the circle, the body often releases what it has been carrying far longer than we realise. People describe feeling heavy in a good way, more present, more in their body, steadier on their feet, or a quiet clarity that feels like remembering something they always knew. Whatever comes up is welcome. It is all part of the rooting.

Please bring a yoga mat or something to sit on, a journal and pen, water, and wear clothing you can move freely in. If you feel called, bring your own rattle, drum, or something from the earth, a stone, a piece of wood, that helps you feel grounded. We'll have a moment in the circle to acknowledge it.

This circle is open to all. Wherever you are on the path, however disconnected you feel from your roots or your own wisdom, you are welcome here exactly as you are.
