Sat, 29 Nov, 1pm - 5pm AEDT

Event description

Only a five-minute walk from the Rosny Park CBD, we at Ignite are going to be having a blast just before Summer on the 29th of November, with food vans, barbecue, live music, group workshops, lawn games and more. Suitable for all ages, this drug-and-alcohol-free event will be held at the Rosny Skatepark from 1pm to 5pm, with something for EVERYONE.

We'll be joined by She Shreds Australia and Island Entertainment with their own respective Skate and Circus workshops, and a whole slew of indie legends taking the stage for a huge day of FUN IN THE SUN.

We'll have live music from:

TERESA DIXON

From one side of Bass Strait to the other, Tasmanian based singer songwriter Teresa Dixon writes and plays gritty alt country and folk songs of love, loss and hope. With a warm and honest voice likened to ‘gravel and honey’, Dixon writes and performs with integrity and grit, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar and banjo.

SAM MCMEEKIN

Sam McMeekin is carving out a niche with her distinctive blend of country roots and pop sensibility. Her musical prowess is uniquely hers, while reminiscent of today's biggest stars in the genre, drawing inspiration from the likes of Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lainey Wilson.

CONVERSATIONALISTS

Conversationalists are a girl band hailing from Nipaluna, Lutruwita (Hobart, Tasmania). They formed in 2023, and have since created a wide variety of originals ranging anywhere between slow melodic pop to Radiohead-adjacent alt-rock. Their music often speaks on empowerment for women in the music industry.

GLASS MEDIA

Glass Media, an indie pop-rock trio from nipaluna/Hobart, Tasmania, is making waves with their infectious melodies, dynamic stage presence, and raw energy. Comprising of Anna Hensher (bass & vocals), Archer Lane (guitar), and Max Greenwood (drums), the band has swiftly carved out a space in Tasmania’s vibrant music scene.

Free visitor parking is available in both carparks off of Bastick St, one gravel directly from the top of the hill, and the other across from Rosny College at the Rosny Bowls Club.

The Rosny Skatepark is wheelchair accessible via footpath, and accessible toilets are available onsite. If you have any concerns regarding accessibility please get into contact with us at igniteeventsmusictas@gmail.com.

We believe in safe and positive spaces where all people are welcome and respected. If you experience or see something that doesn’t look right, please report it to one of our friendly staff.

City of Clarence pays respect to all First Peoples, including the Mumirimina (mu mee ree mee nah) of the Oyster Bay Nation whose unceded lands, skies, and waterways we are privileged to conduct our business on. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and we acknowledge the survival and deep spiritual connection of the Tasmanian Aboriginal People to their Country, and culture; a connection that has endured since the beginning of time.
