Fundamental Drawing Term 4 2026 - Tutor Tony Bramwell
Description
Whether you are a beginner or looking to strengthen your existing skills, this course is designed to build confidence, improve understanding, and overcome common challenges that can hinder artistic growth.
Thursdays 1:30pm-3:30pm
This course is designed to help students develop strong drawing skills, regardless of their chosen subject matter.
Tony teaches using a shape-recognition approach, demonstrating how the structure of almost any object can be understood through six basic shapes and their role in building a drawing. Students begin working in pencil, establishing fundamental skills that provide a solid foundation for later tonal studies involving light and shade.
The course also explores the principles of perspective, including both linear and aerial perspective, to help create a convincing sense of depth and three-dimensional form.
Tony provides reference materials and practical demonstrations, with hands-on exercises that students can follow and apply to their own work.
Key topics include composition, shape, tone, and visual structure—essential elements that support the development of artwork in any medium.
