Program Description

Bloomberg Law integrates legal research with real-time news, business intelligence, technology-driven tools, unlimited search capabilities, and other innovative features in a single platform. This session will explain how to conduct research using the Litigation Intelligence Center and litigation resources within Practice Centers on Bloomberg Law.

Litigation research is a core component of all legal practice whether you’re a newly minted law firm associate or a general counsel for a corporation. This webinar is designed to help litigators at all levels understand how to find the resources they need on Bloomberg Law. We will show you where to find sample litigation documents and guidance to initiate and respond to litigation and how to draft common contract and tort causes of actions and defenses. We will also demonstrate how to conduct case law research as efficiently as possible with our AI-driven tools. We will highlight the value of advanced dockets searching as a source to track litigation, find sample briefs, and use as robust data set for strategic decision-making using Analytics. Finally, we will explain the litigation reference materials, including state resources, and news channels we provide to track legal developments arising from courts, government, and the private sector.

About the presenter

Erik Jensen, Bloomberg Law

Erik Jensen is a Client Service Partner with Bloomberg Law with a specific focus on Federal Circuit Courts and West Coast law firms. Prior to working for Bloomberg Law, he spent five years litigating as a Public Defender in Seattle, WA, defending and representing indigent clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies through all stages of trial. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Philosophy Cum Laude, has a French degree from Universite de Paul Valery in France and a law degree from University of Utah, College of Law. He is licensed and a member of the California, Washington, and Utah state bars associations and an honor society member of Phi Beta Kappa.
