Fundraiser for Olive Kids

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The situation in Gaza is catastrophic.Over 14,000 children have been killed. Without urgent support, more children will die due to the imminent risk of famine.

For those of us lucky to be on this side of the world, every day can feel more futile as we see and hear daily updates of atrocities committed against some of the most vulnerable people on Earth.

Join us to hear from Nasser Mashni - a leader in the Australian Palestinian community about how we got here, steps that Australians can take to show solidarity and support, and what comes next.

All tickets include substantial canapés and finger food from the chefs at Motor.

Dress: Smart casual

All proceeds (minus food costs) will be donated.

From Olive Kids Emergency Appeal

We are all bearing witness to the devastation and destruction unfolding in Gaza.

Conditions are dire, and destined to get worse. Access to electricity is now limited, hospitals are struggling to cope and there are widespread shortages of food and water. According to the UN, an estimated one million people are now displaced in Gaza.

Our Emergency Appeal campaign aims to address urgent needs on the ground:

- secure medical supplies and generator fuel for Al-Awda Hospital
- provide mattresses, blankets and food packages for displaced children and families.

The funds are being distributed by our partners on the ground on what is needed most. We will update our campaign as the situation unfolds.

About Nasser Mashni
Nasser is the son of a Palestinian refugee. He is a co-founder of Australians For Palestine and a founding board member of Olive Kids. With his father’s legacy in mind, Nasser is determined to continue the struggle for justice and a free Palestine.
