Fundraising Dinner for Palestine
Event description
Foodie Feast & Friendly Faces - Fundraising for the health and dignity of all Palestinians!
I'm excited to announce that on 16 March, 2023, I'll be partnering with Nehad, a refugee from Palestine who will take you on a journey through Palestinian culture, with traditional dishes bursting with flavour and stories of resilience and hope.
As you fill your belly with a cheeky beverage and delicious Palestinian food, you will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for making a difference.
Get ready to be moved by the rhythmic cadence of Sara Saleh's words as she brings to life the experiences of her people and shares her vision for a better world. This is a rare opportunity to witness the power of spoken word as a tool for social change and to hear directly from an individual who is actively working towards a brighter future for their community.
Your generous support will help fund Medical Aid for Palestinians who provide essential healthcare services and supplies, ensuring that vulnerable communities have access to the care they deserve.
Don't miss this incredible opportunity to enjoy a night of amazing food and inspiring company, all while making a meaningful difference.
*Vegetarians & vegans will be catered for
Your ticket includes:
A spoken word performance by Sara Saleh
A 3-course home-cooked Palestinian dinner
Alcoholic beverages, should you want one.
A chance to win locally-sourced prizes through a raffle (gift vouchers for a local Palestinian restaurant, and traditional Aboriginal woven gifts... to name a few)
And an opportunity to meet cool people who also support Palestine!
About Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
MAP's vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally-led system of healthcare, and the full realisation of their rights to health and dignity. Through their programmes in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon, they work with trusted and experienced local partners to achieve this vision. Their programmes, designed and delivered by Palestinians, provide access to essential health services and build local knowledge and skills to address Palestinian health problems. In times of humanitarian emergency, they are ready to respond rapidly with aid and assistance.

About the trek:
In April 2023, I will trek 90km across the West Bank in Palestine to raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), and in memory of Yousef M. Faroniya. The trek is organised by MAP and lead by a local Palestinian guide. We will begin in Nablus, passing through Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, and ending in Jerusalem. I will be covering all travel costs, ensuring that 100% of donations fundraised go to MAP.
