Funky Saturday With The Fabulous Funky Butt Club

The Funky Butt Club (aka The Funkies), a new band by Trevor Hart featuring the vocal
stylings of Pearl Hart.
Known mostly for his work with his freeform jazz quartet during a longtime residency at
Ric’s Cafe (back when the Valley was cool), Trevor now explores his own musical origins –
the traditions of early jazz, rags, spirituals and blues.
The early jazz tradition has a freedom, an energy and a beauty and enduring music culture.
The Funkies dive into this tradition with abandon touching on the music of Ellington,
Armstrong and Beiderbecke plus reinventing some modern classics whilst reinventing Tom
Waits and Lou Reed plus originals.
