Event description

Funky Saturday features the Funky Butt Club, (aka The Funkies) the new soul trad adjacent band by Trevor Hart.

Known mostly for his work with his freeform jazz quartet during a longtime residency at Ric's Cafe (back when the Valley was cool), Trevor now explores his own musical origins – the traditions of early jazz, rags, spirituals and soul and blues.

The Funky Butt Club dive into the soul jazz tradition with freedom, an energy and the big sound of brass.

They play some of Trevor's originals, reinvent some modern classics and touch on the music arising from the early jazz tradition.

Spend a Saturday afternoon up close and personal listening and dancing to the Funky Butt Club.
