Event description

CIVIC ART BUREAU presents FUTILE FUTURES, an art social during NFSA Fantastic Futures conference, Tuesday 15 October. Bar open from 5pm, event from 5:30pm until 8pm.

Futile Futures will offer a counterpoint to the notion of a fantastic future for art, aesthetics and ideas by exploring the crappy, absurd and abject dimensions of intelligent machines and tech hype. Featuring performance, disillusion and installation at the Civic Art Bureau above Smiths Alternative in the Melbourne Building, Canberra City. 

With contributions by Saski Haalebos, Nicci Haynes, Ben Grosser, Sebastian Schmieg, Anna Munster, Machine Listening, Litia Roko, Katrina Sluis and and more to be announced.
