https://www.academycinemas.co.nz/movie/futuna-lecture-series-documentary-screening

As part of the Futuna Lecture Series and the Aotearoa Festival of Architecture the Futuna Chapel Trust has been given permission by documentary maker Catherine Hunter to screen two of her documentaries she has written and directed on Glenn Murcutt. THis is the first time that these documentaries have been screened in pubic in New Zealand.

Glenn Murcutt - Spirit of Place - 60 minutes

The Cobar Sound Chapel - 30 minutes

Catherine has worked with Glenn for over 30 years recording his thoughts, teachings and his architectural practice. and Hunter and Sydney architect Nick Sissons share their experiences working with Glenn Murcutt, Australia's eminent architect and Pritzker Prize Winner in 2002.

In July 2026 Glenn celebrated his 90th birthday and 70 years of architectural practice. In those 7 decades Glenn has produced a body of work unparalleled anywhere in the world. All of his work has been in Australia.

Our sponsors, Dulux NZ, APL, AGP, Warren Trust, Roofing Industries Limited, Glenn Murcutt Architecture Foundation and the Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington NZIA branches are generously also supporting the screenings of the these two documentaries.

The Futuna Trust is a charitable organisation and all funds raised from the documentary screening, after costs are covered, go towards the ongoing care, maintenance and operation of Futuna Chapel and also to support various initiatives undertaken by the Trust.
