Future Council Movie Screening
Description
Sustainable Malmsbury have partnered with the Malmsbury Cinema Club to screen the new movie, Future Council, at the Malmsbury Town Hall.
Director Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) invites eight children on an epic adventure across Europe in a school bus powered by biofuel. Their mission is to better understand the planet’s predicament, explore solutions and, most importantly, take the conversation from the streets, into the boardrooms of some of the world’s largest polluters and most influential companies. This inspiring and rollicking journey, where ‘School of Rock’ meets ‘An Inconvenient Truth', results in the children forming a ‘Future Council’ to advise and influence the world's most powerful companies on their decisions that impact nature. Inspiring and fun for children (8 plus recommended), youth and adults alike. Watch the trailer here.
Popcorn, fruit and tea will be free and soft drinks will be provided for reasonable prices (with proceeds to the Malmsbury Cinema Club), or BYO food and drinks. Also feel free to bring along comfy chairs and beanbags. Tickets are free, but please book them now to give us an idea of numbers.
The Malmsbury Cinema Club is a newly-formed group bringing the community together through film, holding their inaugural season in 2026.
