Event description

Please join us for the Future Energy Symposium with keynote speaker Dr Saul Griffith who will deliver a thought provoking talk on

"Putting Households First in the Energy Transition".

The keynote will be followed by Q & A and poster session.

Join us for this important conversation about Australia’s energy future. Bridging national policy with household-level action, Saul will highlight how bold, coordinated policy can unlock electrification and behaviour change.

Dr. Saul Griffith is an inventor and entrepreneur and a trained engineer. He received his Ph.D at MIT in the junction between materials science and information theory. Prior to MIT, he studied in Sydney, Australia and at UC Berkeley in metallurgical engineering. Saul was awarded the MacArthur Fellowship grant in 2007.
‍Saul researches and talks about the energy system, mapping it from generation down to the toasters we use and electrifying everything to rapidly reduce emissions and transform how we use energy. Saul’s newest book, Plug In!: The Electrification Handbook, is everything you need to know for your electrification journey.

He also is Founder and Chief Scientist for Rewiring Australia, Rewiring America, and Rewiring Aotearo, non-profit organisations dedicated to widespread electrification as a means of fighting climate change, creating jobs, making our air cleaning, and saving the future for our children.

Following the keynote, our poster session will feature both technology and social science-led research.
