Is your child curious about the future of our world and looking to make a difference?

Bop Industries and Robotics Playground present the ‘Inventor’s Lab: FutureMakers’ program. Across the first week of the holidays we will be exploring the future of our earth and looking at how we as young people can innovate and make the change we want to see.

The Junior 2-Day Workshop is designed for primary students in grades 3-6 and will be held Monday and Tuesday (21st & 22nd of September)
The Senior 3-Day Workshop is designed for high school students in grades 7-10 and will be held Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (23rd, 24th, & 25th of September)

We will be looking at topics around the future of food, transport, and cities, students will be exploring the exciting advancements in these fields, the emerging opportunities and also the challenges that face our communities in these areas.

With 2020 always looked to as the pinnacle ‘year of the future’, we as generation Z will be looking at how we can innovate, create and invent to make the world a better place and to develop some exciting advancements across industries.

Over the course of the program we will be building engineering skills, our innovator's mindset and our entrepreneurial prowess as we create solutions to these complex problems as young inventors and futuremakers.

FAQs

Where Will The Program Be Held?

This program will be taking place in the Brisbane City Innovation Hub ‘The Capital’. This events and co-working space is located at 155 Queen Street, Brisbane. The entrance to the space can be found through the old regent theatre on Queen Street Mall, opposite H&M and next to Zara.

What Will Students Need?

We ask that students attending the program bring their own lunch, as well as closed in shoes, a water bottle and a laptop or tablet if possible. Our team will be providing snacks throughout the day, as well as all the materials they will need for the program.

We ask that students bring their own devices as we will have components of the program that will see them working on their own devices. We have iPads students can borrow if they do not have a device to bring, but if possible we would ask they bring their own.

Learning COVID Safe.

The safety of our students and our facilitators is our top priority and we will be taking great care to ensure we are creating a safe environment for all those at the workshop. We will implement a COVIDSafe plan inline with the state and federal government recommendations that will be sent out prior to the program.

We will be taking measures to ensure students are practicing social distancing as best they can, whilst also regularly wiping down surfaces, having ample access to hand sanitizer and practicing other COVIDSafe habits.

Do Students Need Any Prior Experience?

Students don't need any prior experience for this program. We will be able to cater to different skill levels and interest areas. We just ask that students are excited and willing to participate.
