QUT Future Leaders' Forum

At the QUT CareerCon headline event, you can engage directly with QUT student leaders and build meaningful connections with the next generation of talent across a broad range of disciplines. Plus hear from industry professionals who studied at QUT and are now driving impact within a global technology organisation.

The afternoon consists of two parts: a moderated conversation followed by facilitated networking, with the flexibility to attend both or just the networking.

Program

2.45pm – Doors open, QUT Gardens Theatre, X Block, Gardens Point campus
3.00pm – Part 1: Live Q&A with guest speakers | afternoon tea for Industry professionals
4.00pm – Part 2: Facilitated networking with students over canapés and drinks
5.00pm – Event concludes

The afternoon opens with a live Q&A featuring industry leaders who studied at QUT and are now driving impact within a global technology organisation. David McKeering, Executive Managing Director, ANZ, and Alana Steele, Head of People Experience and Internal Communications both from NTT DATA, will share their journey from QUT to the global stage, and the skills and mindsets that drive success in a fast-changing market. This conversation will be moderated by QUT student and 7NEWS Reporter, Sameel Deoji.

The conversation will cover how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping careers, what sets highly-engaged graduates apart, and why professional relationships matter for long-term success. By the time students walk into the networking session, they will be engaged, informed, and energised to talk.

This is where you get direct, face-to-face access to the next generation of talent.

Students identify your industry using a colour-coded system, so you know when they approach you, they are already interested in what you do. From there, students will have guided prompts and questions to ensure every conversation starts with intent. You can also set the tone and direction of each conversation - whether that is career pathways, your organisation's culture, graduate opportunities, or industry trends. You will get the chance to rotate through multiple students, giving you the opportunity to have purposeful conversations with a broad range of motivated, career-ready candidates in one afternoon.
