Futures Masterclass 2027: Preparing for the Next Big Dry

The ANU Institute for Water Futures (IWF) is excited to offer an executive education program like no other. An immersive learning experience, the Futures Masterclass is designed to help professionals build the skills and capabilities needed to plan for - and respond to - an era of water and climate uncertainty.

Guided by world-leading experts, participants will learn to map, assess, and make sense of complex, interdependent risks while taking a futures-oriented view of climate change and its possible impacts on water stress and water security.

The program centers around a speculative drought scenario: “The Next Big Dry”, which challenges participants to explore the systemic impacts of extreme weather on their organisations, industries, and communities, all while navigating shifting policy, social, and environmental landscapes.

Discounts

A 5% discount will be automatically applied to group bookings of 3 or more people. A discount code may be available for students and those from the not-for-profit sector. Please contact us to discuss.

Program Changes

While the ANU has used all reasonable endeavours to ensure the information contained in promotional materials and online are as accurate as possible at time of publication, the ANU reserves the right to vary the material or information contained in publications and any associated linked sites at any time without notice. IWF reserves the right to change programs/presenters or to cancel programs if enrollment criteria is not met, or when conditions beyond its control prevail. In the event of an event being cancelled, all registrants will be notified and arrangements will be made to reschedule and refund.

Refunds

Cancellations made up to 14 days prior to the event are eligible for a full refund of the ticket price, less the booking fee.

Privacy Policy

ANU recognises that your privacy is very important. The way ANU collects, uses, discloses, secures and disposes of your personal information is governed by our compliance with, and obligations as an 'agency' under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). IWF collects information as required in order to administer and manage registrations for its courses and events. If registrants do not provide all the relevant information, registrations may not be confirmed. The information you provide may be used to maintain contact and keep you up-to-date with information about upcoming courses, events, networking and other Executive Education alumni opportunities. Event Photography and Recording

IWF programs may be photographed and recorded. Images and recordings are kept by IWF and may be used for promotional purposes including websites, publications and social media. If you do not want your photograph taken at a course, please inform the photographer or course facilitator on the day.
