ONGLEY MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 2024
Gaylene and Alex Ongley were pivotal members of the Fencing North community over many years. We commemorate their contributions by making ‘The Ongley’ a fully ranking tournament in all three disciplines.

Entry Fees - This year we are forced to raise local competition fees due to large increases in venue hire costs and other expenses. Our standard entry fee for local competitions will be $30.00 for 2024.
Standard registration $30.00 plus booking and cc fees available up to 23.55h on Monday 19th Feb
Late entry is $50.00 plus booking and cc fees.
Late entries are subject to availability and at the discretion of the DT. Last entry 23.55h on FRIDAY before the competition (April 23rd 2024)
‘Out of Town’ Entries
This applies to any fencer from the FENCING NORTH REGION who does not reside in Auckland.
If you are a Fencing North member who loves outside of the metropolitan Auckland area, please contact the organiser regarding a discount.
Weapons Checking
We will not be doing a full gear check before this competition BUT referees will be employing Weights and Gauges to check Weapons at the piste.
COMPETITION TIMETABLE - DRAFT SCHEDULE
The start times below are only an indication. We will send you notifications of start times for each event when competitor numbers become clear.
A FOOD STALL will be operating during the tournament - More news on that later.
MORNING EVENTS
Men’s Epee & Men’s Sabre or Mixed Sabre. . 8 - 8.15am registration
9am start (or 8.30am if numbers are large). Please help with setup after registering. Times may alter slightly if there’s a separate Womens Sabre event.
Women’s Foil 10.15-10.30 check-in for 11.00 start
MIDDAY/AFTERNOON EVENTS
Women’s Epee 11.15-11.30 check-in for 12.00pm start
Men’s Foil. 12.15-12.30 check-in for 1.00pm start
Final Start & registration times will be notified when known.
Please contact us first before entering multiple weapons.
Affiliation/Membership
To compete in Fencing North competitions you must be affiliated with Fencing New Zealand as a full competitive member. The FeNZ membership starts on 01/JAN and lasts a calendar year. Please always sign up with the same name, otherwise we cannot find you and accredit ranking points.
FeNZ affiliation fees are additional to the competition entry.

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to view the new FeNZ affiliation number issued to you via Sporty at the moment, but as DT I can access this number via the FeNZ admin portal (Fiona)
