Maddy is a circus performer, clown, and physical theatre artist. Her work is political, feminist, unapologetically filled with rage, awkward, and extremely stupid.

Jay is a circus and physical theatre artist, who draws on their musical background to inform their sense of movement and creation. Their work is queer, poignant, darkly humourous, absurd, and visually striking.

Maddy pushes her body and characters to extremes to shine a light on how ludicrous so much of what we do really is. She has co-produced and co-written three shows (Sometimes I Say Your Name Out Loud, Dwell and Resting Bitch Face), and performed as a solo artist (The Floor is Lava, Flatpack, Airport, Spanx for the Memories, Niflhel, and Nautical but Nice).

Maddy has also performed as an MC (Over the Back Fence, Insert Audience Here, and Raise the Roof) an ensemble performer (Inertia, Cirquetry, Rear Vision), and in duo and trio clowning and acrobatic works (Picnic, Earnest on Holiday, Bread! The Edible Plate) at festivals and Cabarets since 2014.

Jay is the co-founder of Bare Legs Company. In 2021, they performed in the sold-out season of the immersive queer riot DISTURBO for Anywhere Festival, and in 2022 undertook a 2 month artist residency at Metro Arts to further develop the work.

Jay has performed in 3 sold-out seasons of Dwell at Brisbane Fringe 2022, Wonderland Festival 2019, and Anywhere Festival 2019. Jay was one-half of lipsync punks Dance Mums for RuckusFest 2021. They were a guest artist for the creative development of CIRCA’s Leviathan in 2019 and an ensemble performer in Memorial for Brisbane Festival 2018.

Jay has previously developed work with the support of Circa, Vulcana Circus, Collectivist, and MOI Productions, and performed in cabarets, showcases, and festivals since 2014.
