Bienvenue à la 2e édition de la Scientific Game Jam au Québec!

Afin d'encourager le rayonnement de la recherche scientifique et de la vulgarisation, Numana et Delirium Den s'associent pour organiser au Québec la 2e édition de l'événement Scientific Game Jam organisé en France depuis plusieurs années par l'OBNL La Science Entre en Jeu.

Qu'est-ce qu'on appelle un game jam?

Un game jam c'est un événement où pendant 48h les participants se challengent en équipe pour créer un prototype de jeu vidéo sur un thème précis. Un jam c'est à la fois une compétition et une occasion d'apprendre, donc pas de stress, le but c'est avant tout de passer un bon moment et d'apprendre!

C'est quoi notre Scientific Game Jam? 

Un Scientific Game Jam c'est la même chose, mais où le thème c'est : la science! Pour être plus précis, chaque équipe s'organisera autour d'un chercheur ou d'un doctorant qui aura la lourde tâche de leur présenter son travail de recherche, le leur faire comprendre et les aider à en vulgariser une partie à travers le jeu qui sera produit.

Afin de pouvoir inviter un public plus large (et de permettre à nos jammeurs de se reposer), la remise des prix aura lieu le vendredi 3 mai 2025 à l'Indie Asylum. Vous pouvez vous inscrire dès maintenant à cet événement.

Programme de la Scientific Game Jam:

• Vendredi 18 Avril
  • 18h00 : Accueil des participants à l'Indie Asylum
    
  • 18h30 : Présentation des travaux de recherche
  • 19h00 : Constitution des équipes
  • 19h30 : Début du jam 
• Samedi 19 Avril
  • Jam et mentorat
• Dimanche 20 Avril
  • 18h00 : Présentation des projets devant le jury
  • 20h00 : Fin du jam

Les jeux seront disponibles publiquement à la fin du jam sur itch.io

Les inscriptions sont individuelles, pas besoin de former une équipe nous formeront les équipes au début du jam.

Ever wanted to make a video game based on actual scientific research?

Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Scientific Game Jam in Quebec!

In order to promote scientific research and popularization, Numana and Delirium Den are partnering to organize the 2nd edition of the Scientific Game Jam in Quebec, an event that has been held in France for several years by the non-profit organization La Science Entre en Jeu.

An award ceremony will be held on May 2nd 2025, you can register here.

What do we call a game jam?

A game jam is an event where, for 48 hours, participants challenge themselves in teams to create a video game prototype based on a specific theme. A jam is both a competition and a learning opportunity, so no stress—the main goal is to have a good time and learn something new!

What is our Scientific Game Jam?

A Scientific Game Jam is the same thing, but with a science theme! More specifically, each team will be organized around a researcher or a PhD student who will have the important task of presenting their research work, helping the team understand it, and assisting in popularizing a part of it through the game that will be produced.

To invite a wider audience (and give our jammers a chance to rest), the awards ceremony will take place on Friday, May 3, 2025, at the Indie Asylum. You can register now for this event.

Scientific Game Jam Program:

• Friday, April 18
  • 6:00 PM: Welcome participants at Indie Asylum
  • 6:30 PM: Presentation of research work
  • 7:00 PM: Team formation
  • 7:30 PM: Start of the jam
• Saturday, April 19
  • Jam and mentoring
• Sunday, April 20
  • 6:00 PM: Presentation of projects to the jury
  • 8:00 PM: End of the jam

All games will be available publicly on itch.io

Inscriptions are individual, you don't have to create a team in advance, teams will be formed up at the event. If you want to enter as a team, let all of you signup individually and we will group you together at the event.
