La Boite will host the play reading of Garbage Patch as part of HWY Live; a brand-new work by 2020-21 Queensland Premier’s Drama Award nominee, Maddie Nixon.

Garbage Patch follows a young Brisbane woman on the cusp of adulthood, who hears the tremors of something terrifying that's awoken in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. But no one will heed her warning... As she fights to save her city, she must reconcile which is more dangerous; the approaching beast or the society that created it.

Hear Nixon's comedic writing shine through, in a contemporary world, at this HWY Live play reading on Friday 23 April.
