Event description

welcome to the garden where these original songwriters truly belong. We've been longing to put this one on with a blooming Flower, a graceful Tree and some wicked wild Wood expressing themselves in the Sunbird cottage garden alive with wildlife and live with the sound of beautiful music.

Here's a bit about our guests

JC @ the Tree

JC and the Tree create brilliant soundscapes that elevate you into timeless visions of all things connected to nature and the world beyond. Inspired by their hometown of Sunshine Coast, this indie-folk duo writes melodies about all things from the mountains to the sea and life between. The heartfelt violin playing from JC soars as the warm rich tones of the Tree set a benchmark that transcends the ordinary music lovers ear. Their voices blend beautifully in harmony as they play their range of original indie/folk tunes. Pushing boundaries they take their audiences on a journey through genres including gypsy/spanish violin pieces, folk/metal rock songs, funky wah-wah violin grooves and soulful piano ballads. Music is a language beyond words and JC and the Tree are inspired to use it as a tool to bring all walks of life together.

JC and the Tree only formed mid 2019 but have already performed at various well known festivals such as Woodford Folk Fest, Caloundra Music Festival, Palm Creek, Wallaby Creek and Wintermoon.

Mr Tim Woodz

Tim Woodz is a storytelling folk singer with a quirky narrative who has won the Maldon Minstrel award and toured with iconic performer Tex Perkins. His songwriting is spontaneous, energetic and warm, often about things that you wouldn't think to write about, from possums on powerlines to Melbourne's Westgate bridge to backyard cricket. Lyrically he's able to spark nostalgic and charming imagery with his innocently styled song tall trees. Tim Woodz is a trained musician and natural performer and a bit of goof.
