What We'll Do
We’ll start at 2.00 pm with a welcome and introduction. We like to visit a range of different gardens, each as unique as the gardeners who live there. It's wonderful to see the diverse garden styles, approaches, and plants that can be grown in our bioregion.
This month we'll visit Sandrian Park, Sandra and Adrian's 120 acre farm at Adare.
What We'll See
Food Forest planted on swales.
Espalier apples, pears, cherry.
Miniature Hereford stud.
Wildlife corridor initial tree planting.
We'll see the espalier fruit trees that were planted in 2024, and a demonstration of pruning and training these young trees.
The Story Behind the Farm
Adrian has owned the 120 acre property for 20 years. He and Sandra have been working on it for the past 7 years to eradicate lantana and other weed species while improving pasture and creating habitat for wildlife. They saw their first koala on the property in 2024 and echidnas have been spotted.
This is a working farm with cattle and bulls. While children are welcome they must be closely supervised.
