    Event description

Join us for a delightful workshop where we uncover the artistry of crafting natural garden posies straight from your backyard blooms. Learn the secrets of harmonizing colors, textures, and scents to create stunning arrangements that bring the beauty of nature indoors. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned gardener, immerse yourself in the joy of floral creativity and take home your own handcrafted masterpiece. Let your garden blossom into a source of endless inspiration!

Many of us grow flowers in the garden with the idea of being able to cut them for flower arrangements for the house. But we often lack the knowledge and skills to arrange flowers into pleasing bouquets. In this workshop you will learn how to arrange beautiful garden posies from the flowers and greens you grow in your garden already. Iris will cover the theory of flower arranging, flower care and conditioning. You will arrange your own posy and decorate a jar to take home.

    Meet Iris

Iris Pich is a German Master Florist with 30+ years experience and has taught countless students the art of Floristry at the Flower Design School. She is known as the Barefoot Florist on Facebook and Instagram. Iris cares deeply about making the floristry industry more sustainable, prefering locally grown flowers and natural materials for her bouquets. She believes that flowers have healing properties and create happiness. Being a florist to her means she is working with lovely materials and is able to deliver positive emotions that help make the recipients feel appreciated and loved.

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
