Sat, 10 May, 1pm - 2pm AWST

Event description

Swoop along to learn what we can do in our communities and backyards to support birds, especially the endangered Carnaby's and Red-tailed Black Cockatoos! Special presenter, Merryn Pryor - WA Black Cockatoo Project Coordinator at Birdlife Australia, will introduce you to your local birds, what they need to coexist in our urban landscapes and guide you through the basics of providing habitat in your own garden - no matter the size of your space. You'll learn about plant selection, and water and nesting resource provision.

Tickets are $5, and free for children under 15 years. Please note, that while children may enjoy the workshop, information will be catered toward an adult audience and parents must stay with children.

Light refreshments will be provided.

This event is delivered by Birdlife Australia and ReWild Perth, powered by Perth NRM, in partnership with the Hilton Precinct's Garden, Verges and Trees Committee, thanks to a Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service (WIRES) wildlife grant and
forms a part of the 'Building Resilient Landscapes in the Swan Region' project funded by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust and Perth Natural Resource Management - a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
