Event description

The breath has been used as the vehicle for transformation since time immemorial. Countless traditions have recognized the breath as a bridge between the body, mind and spirit.

Modern research has unveiled the profound impact breathwork has on the nervous system, cardiovascular health, mental and emotional wellbeing, cognitive function, its capacity to regulation of stress hormones, modulate brainwave activity and much more.

This special breathwork immersion will provide intellectual insight into the nature and mechanics of breathwork, but more importantly give you experiential knowledge of the physiological and psychological benefits.

The workshop will be structured in two parts. During the first phase we will explore a wonderful range of ancient yogic pranayama practices that have passed down through generations. In the second phase we will dive into the power house contemporary Holotropic style breathing experience.

These different techniques are designed to unlock different benefits and effects. Each carry their own intricate mechanisms, transformative potential, and means by which they influence our physiology and psychology.

This workshop is open to everyone, no previous experience is necessary. For those curious about what to expect from the experience; profound shifts can occur, the mind goes offline, awareness expands, layers of stress are peeled away, the body rests very deeply and people find themselves taken to profound meditative states they have never experienced before. Numerous people describe this breathwork as ‘one of the most profound experiences of their lives.

This is a wonderful opportunity for introspection and renewal. A unique space to catalyse healing, gain unique insights and perhaps most importantly have direct experience of expanded states of awareness.

This immersion will be led by Gary Gorrow and take place in the sublime dome at SOMA Byron Bay. Space is strictly limited so jump in quick or you might miss out.
