Writing the Bittersweet

Room: Teenspace, 1st Floor | Moderator: Denise LaRose | 1:15 AM- 2:00 PM

After the presentation, attendees are welcome to purchase a book and/or get their book signed in the Children's Library area.

Pre-registration is extremely helpful for planning purposes, but is not required. Pre-registered attendees will get priority seating in the event of limited seating. Walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows. 

Description

There is a healing power in books whose stories take on difficult and powerful subjects. Join us for a vibrant and hopeful conversation with Gayle Forman and Keith Miller Jr. as they discuss writing both the joys and the sorrows in the lives of teenagers.

Biography

Gayle Forman 

Keith Miller Jr. is the Lambda Award nominated author of the HarperCollins PRITTY novel series (Pritty, 2023; Togetha, 2025) and is an executive producer of Pritty: The Animation. Keith has an MS in educational psychology, focused on healing literacies and an MFA in creative writing from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY.
