Two years into the Israeli genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the state of Israel is showing no sign of reining in its atrocious onslaught. With a complete impunity and unconditional military and political support from the US, UK, Australia, Germany and other western imperialist powers, Israel's genocidal campaign is only expanding:
How is the unprecedented awakening to the Palestinian plight in the global public opinion received inside the Israeli society?
Has the genocide in Gaza played a role in creating divisions in the Israeli society? Are these divisions likely to change the current Israeli regime’s course of action towards the Palestinians?
What does recognising Palestine mean for the Palestinian political structures? How does it fit within the envisaged future between the Jordanian River to the Mediterranean Sea?
Are practical measures taken globally, including BDS, likely to make any difference given the blind American support for Israel?

Diana Buttu is a Palestinian-Canadian lawyer, analyst based in Haifa, Israel. Former legal advisor to the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO). Her podcast series, This is Palestine, is produced by the Institute of Middle East Understanding and includes interviews with Palestinian student activists, human shields and torture camp survivors.
