Israel’s Erasure of Palestine - From Colonisation and Ethnic Cleansing to Genocide
Event description
Gaza: The Test Of Humanity
Israel’s Erasure of Palestine - From Colonisation and Ethnic Cleansing to Genocide
- How has Israel controlled areas it occupied in 1967 (West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem), including the Syrian Golan Heights and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula? How did this system of control differ and change over time in each area?
- In what ways have human rights law and the law of occupation shaped Israel's forms of control in these territories?
- How has ‘human shielding’ been used in Gaza over the years and how is it related to the genocide we are currently witnessing?
- Why has it been so difficult to mobilise the international legal system to stop the genocide in Gaza?
- How has the genocide in Gaza been normalised in the Israeli society?
- Can the large demonstrations against the Israeli government’s efforts to introduce a judicial overhaul succeed in bringing an end to Netanyahu’s coalition and consequently an end to the war?
- How imminent is the ethnic cleansing of Gaza? And where does International Law stand on such a pursuit?
