Event description

I have been experimenting with many different types of fabric dyeing for over 30 years and from the knowledge gained I now produce mixed media works focused on textiles.

What you will learn:

* How to use a variety of fabrics for dyeing, that will later be used in collage

*Tying and clamping fabric for dyeing

* Overdyeing

You will leave with a selection of fabric pieces suitable for collage or small fabric projects.

All materials will be supplied.

Living on a cattle property at Jennings, right on the NSW/QLD border on the New England Tablelands, Sue is influenced by her surroundings, the bush, with all the colours, smells and beautiful designs. Through her works she tries to capture the feeling of the Australian landscape and its people.

Although basically self-taught, Sue has gained much inspiration from tutors such as Ruth Francis, Roy Churcher and Helen Sanderson. She has been painting acrylic and silk for many years, but now makes use of many mediums.
