    Event description

Green Connect warmly invites you to our Community Day of 2021. Everyone is welcome. Bring the family along and join us for a fun morning on the farm!

We will be celebrating the opening of three new things:

    • Our new farm and education hub (proudly funded by the Ian Potter Foundation and Westpac Foundation),
    • Our new children's garden (proudly funded by the NSW Government through the My Community Project fund) and,
    • Our new entrance garden (proudly funded by Bohmer's Tree Care).

There will be heaps to do on the day!!

    • Self-guided tours of the farm
    • Scavenger hunt
    • Plenty of activities for the kids, including garden exploration games and an Early Start Discovery Space play area
    • Op shop stall
    • Green Connect farm produce stall
    • Coffee van
    • Bake sale

Before you visit, please be aware:

    • The site is a working farm. Visitors must participate in a safety briefing before entering the site and take responsibility for the safety of themselves and accompanying children.
    • Many areas of the farm are not accessible for people with mobility difficulties, people in wheelchairs or prams and infants will need to be carried. Please contact us if you have mobility challenges and we can make a plan for accessing flat parts of the site.
    • Closed-toed shoes or boots are required to enter the farm (no thongs or sandals please). Long pants are highly recommended.
    • We'll encourage you to get hands on, so please wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty!
    • This is an all weather event so please come prepared! We recommend gumboots and rain jackets in the rain and sunhats and sunscreen in sun.
    • Allergen advice: Our farm is home to domestic animals as well as bees, wasps and macadamia trees. Please pack an Epipen if someone in your group has anaphylaxis and keep it with you at all times.
    • This is a zero waste event so please bring a reusable cup or mug!

This event is by donation. Thank you for supporting the work that Green Connect does to grow fair food, reduce waste and create more jobs for former refugees and young people.

We look forward to seeing you there!
